La crianza en barrica se realiza dentro de la nave Eiffel, construida en 1909 por el estudio del popular arquitecto.Īdemás de Imperial, en esta bodega se elabora el vino Real de Asúa, un homenaje a los fundadores de la bodega. La bodega está compuesta por tinas de roble francés de distintas capacidades, y la elaboración del vino se hace bajo un riguroso control de calidad, con un seguimiento individualizado por terruños, y de la forma más artesanal. Su nombre fue adoptado después de un embotellado especial para el mercado inglés en una botella llamada “Pinta Imperial” o “Imperial Pint” (una pinta imperial es medio litro aproximadamente). Se trata del vino buque insignia de la bodega y tiene el honor de ostentar el título de “Mejor Vino del Mundo”, en el año 2013, por la prestigiosa revista estadounidense Wine Spectator, siendo el primer vino español en conseguirlo. Aquí se produce uno de los mejores vinos de España desde 1920, que tan solo se elabora cuando se producen cosechas excepcionales en nuestra casa: Imperial.
